Header Image allows relating of images, slideshows, media files or other files to the context of the currently displayed content. Based on the context of the current displayed Joomla Content, that is the ID's of section, category, item and content, the module selects a corresponding image or media file to display.
This is a flexible module and relating the files to the content is done by naming the files according to this extensions naming convention. So that any files may be added later by creating the filename according to Header Image's rules and uploading it to the used directory.
Header Image allows to create Slideshows with static images and is supporting a wide variety of transition effects, natively by JavaScript and without Flash. It also allows to select random images to display as static image, media or slideshow composition. And filtering capability to individual components, such that files may relate to a component, and are used only when that component is currently active.
All settings allow flexible use of this Joomla Extension. Multiple instances of the module are allowed and instance control between those is possible. Date restrictions are available to switch image sets for certain time periods, for example during holiday season.
With PHP scripts, Header Image may get extended to detect ID's of other Joomla! Components. By that it allows to show its designated files also in combination with other Components like SOBI2, ChronoForms, or others.
Header Image also supports multiple languages, allowing to use localized files based on the current shown language (requires the JoomFish Component).
