The conversion of this extension to Magento 2 required intensive work, as the integration of all core extension functions had to be developed completely new as the new Magento 2 framework required many new and different approaches to safely and reliably integrate the tax related functions of EU VAT into the core tax functions of the Magento framework.

With release of Magento 1.9.2.2 and the SUPEE-6788 Patch our EuVAT for Magento extension for flexible handling of EU VAT regulations with the Magento store was affected by necessary changes to the Admin Backend functions.

The maintenance release 0.3.76 has the necessary changes included.

As of 1. January 2015 there will be changes in the VAT legislation for Telecommunication, Broadcasting and Electronic Services with the European Union (EU).

These new regulations are also know under the tag of MOSS, which is the title of the One-Stop-Shop for declaration of Business Transactions where a EU Countries VAT has been applied in accordance with the new legislation.

To prepare your Magento Store when using our "EuVAT for Magento" extension, we have prepared the related EU Tax Rates and related instructions for this.

Please update your EuVAT installation if you have recently downloaded the maintenance release 0.3.52 of this extension. That release had a path error in the installation file and did unintentionally overwrite some core template files.

With 1. July 2013 Croatia is member of the European Union, and with it for business transactions the same VAT regulations come into place as for all other EU member countries.

This means if you are using our EuVAT for Magento extension, and your store is also accepting transactions from addresses in Croatia, to update your EuVAT for Magento extension.

With the release of the new Magento 1.6 branch we are now gradually opening new version branches of our Magento extensions and making the adaptations required by the changes in the new Magento branch.

EuVAT for Magento is now available as version branch maintained for Magento 1.6.

We ourselves and customers using the EuVAT for Magento extension are currently exprienced failures in communication with the EU VIES service. That is caused by a disruption on the EU VIES web-service which is out of our area of influence.

The EU VIES web service for validation of EU VAT numbers has performed some changes to their service, in detail the address under which the remote service use and validation takes place. These changes may lead to messages of EuVAT that the remote endpoint is not accessible.

Our extension "EuVAT for Magento" is using the EU VIES Web Service for validating EU VAT Numbers. That Web Service, offered by the European Union, recently underwent some changes in the way of accessing and data exchange. These changes are relevant to the operation of EuVAT for Magento.
